Exceptions to the restrictions are detailed by the Government and does not apply to:

• going to work and returning from work (if you are an employee, you conduct a business, farm, as well as buying goods or services related to this activity);
• activities related to volunteering (you help people in need during their quarantine or people who should not leave their houses; or you are taking actions related to fighting the COVID-19);
• the situation when you need to deal with matters related to everyday life (going to the shop, to the pharmacy, to the doctor, walking the dog or caring for loved ones);
• remember that meetings in groups of more than two people are prohibited (this does not apply to families);
• there is a total ban on gatherings, meetings, events (exception: meetings with family)
• only 5 people can participate in masses or other religious rites (the ban on movement does not apply to these people)

The number of people traveling by public transport in the same time has also been reduced (no more than 50% of seats can be filled). Restrictions introduced earlier with the obligatory 14-day quarantine for persons returning from abroad are also valid.

Remember, If you do not follow these rules, you can get a fine in the amount of 5000 PLN.

It is also worth noting that on March 27, 2020, few changes were introduced as regards the crossing of Polish borders. Unlike before, residents of Poland working in a neighboring country, who regularly cross the border, as well as foreigners working in Poland but residing in a neighboring country who regularly cross the border, will also be subject to a 14-day mandatory quarantine.

Since April 1, 2020 the government has introduced a new regulations regarding to restrictions on public movement, such as:

• shops: only three people for one cash desk;
• open-air markets: only three people for one trading point
• post offices: only two people for one window
• from 10-12 am shops/service points are open only for people 65+
• large-format construction stores will be closed during weekends
• from April 2,2020 all customers are obliged to use gloves in shops
• hotels and other accommodations are closed
• mandatory home quarantine for everyone who live with a person who has a obligatory quarantine
• hairdresser, cosmetics, tattoo and piercing salons are closed. It is impossible to do these services also outside of mentioned places.
• private and public rehabilitation treatments and massages are also suspended
• people under 18 years old can not leave their houses without an adult supervision
• obligatory safe distance from other people at least 2 meters
• parks, beaches and boulevards are closed

Despite the fact, that shops and pharmacies will be open, we encourage you to follow all rules, keep a safe distance from other people, use gloves etc.
