International Human Rights Day, celebrated on 10 December, became an opportunity for the Rule of Law Institute to appeal for the introduction of procedural guarantees resulting from EU law in return proceedings.

Polish return operations are financed largely from EU funds through the European Border and Coast Guard Agency.j (Frontex). Frontex may be held liable for directly or indirectly contributing to the violation of European law. Therefore, according to the Rule of Law Institute (the entity authorized to monitor return operations), the conditions for suspending cooperation with Poland in the field of financing forced returns have been met.
