The Rule of Law Institute Foundation was founded with the aim of supporting initiatives such as promotion of legal awareness in the society, professional development of lawyers, promotion of the knowledge of the European law and of the idea of European integration, human rights protection initiatives and the reform of legal education.
The main goal of the project is to develop competences and skills of the employees of the Foundation and the management board in the area of non-formal adult education in order to successfully organize and support these type of activities in the future. The effect of the project will be the expansion of an educational opportunities and improvement of international cooperation. It will also be an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and establish enduring contacts, learn different approaches to teaching and gain knowledge on new work methods.
Our main activities will focus on issues of work and education in a multinational and multicultural environment and on fostering a concept of legal education development according to the idea of street law (i.e. “everyday law”). It is a program addressed to the general public, based on practical learning of law in an interactive way. Street law programs cover issues related to human rights, consumer rights, the basics of civil law, criminal law and democracy.
In addition, we expect that the project will bring measurable benefits in the form of:
1. Improving the qualifications of the Foundation’s management and administrative staff and training staff.
2. Improving the quality of work with people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
3. Helping us reach new target groups. As a result, the number of beneficiaries of our activities and services will increase.
4. A long-term promotion of European values and the Erasmus + program, enabling us to join strategic partnerships under Key Action 2 in the future. Participation in the project will also increase the Foundation’s prestige.
The project foresees the participation of 10 people in a two-week English language “Crash Course”, a trip of 3 people for training: ” Coaching for disadvantaged backgrounds (refugees-asylum seekers): Interculturality, Tolerance and Diversity in the classroom” and a job shadowing visit of 3 people to The Law Society of Ireland.
As part of the dissemination of results of the project, we are going to organize a training for employees and associates of the Foundation. It will help to improve our work with people from disadvantaged backgrounds, migrants, refugees and socially excluded people. At the end of the project, we will have a summarizing street law seminar on legal education issues.
