In the structure of the Rule of Law Institute there is an semi-autonomous Legal Aid Center – named after Ewelina Milczanowska – the coordinator of our legal aid program in 2005. Indigent people are given legal help by the center and are counseled by the Institute’s lawyers and volunteers using the legal clinic model. The Institute’s team (professional lawyers, law graduates, apprentices and students) specializes in providing legal aid in the areas of civil law, family law, administrative and labor law (we do not provide assistance in divorce and criminal cases). Every year over 1500 clients are served by the Center. For many years the legal aid program has operated without support from the state, however, we continue to fulfill our core mission of free legal assistance thanks to individual donations.
