SUPPORT THE RULE OF LAW INSTITUTE! DEDUCT THE DONATION FROM YOUR INCOME TAX!

In 2016, staff members and volunteers of the Rule of Law Institute Foundation in the context of statutory activities have undertaken in the public interest:

• gave legal advice to 919 foreigners and refugees in more than 3880 cases,
• gave more than 450 legal advice to indigent people who cannot afford paying for legal aid,
• organized 3 conferences: “The Rule of Law: Reconciling Accountability and Independence of the Judiciary” –17 September 2016, “Monitoring the use of alternatives to detention of foreigners” – 25 April 2016, “The future of immigration and asylum policy of the European Union” – 11 March 2016,
• released publication: “The use of alternatives to detention of foreigners in Poland in the years 2014-2015”, “Welcome PL”,
• helped 60 foreigners in raising the knowledge of Polish language as a part of free language courses.

The team of the Rule of Law Institute in 2016 counted more than 21 employees. In addition, as a part of the voluntary work, practices or internships in pro-bono work was involved approximately 25 law students (including 11 from abroad).

If you consider our activity as valuable and worth continuing, we request your support. The Rule of Law Institute is a foundation that does not run business activity and covers its statutory activity from grants, subsidies and donations of private and legal persons. The majority of projects that we realize is not completely financed and requires us to gather funds for our own contribution. Donation on statutory purposes that you make to the Foundation can be deducted from your income tax (up to 6% of the income).

The Legal assistance that we provide is free and does not depend on donating to the Foundation!

Supporting the Foundation by making a “donation for statutory purposes” enables the donor to deduct up to 6% of the amount from the taxpayer’s income.

In order to discount this amount the transfer (payment) to the Foundation should be made in the bank or post office, under the title “donation for statutory purposes,” and keeping the proof of this transfer/payment. Deductions should be made while submitting the annual PIT tax form. Please note that the Third Department of Bank Pekao SA in Lublin does not charge commission on donations for statutory purposes paid at a bank cashier.
