European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)

The basis for obtaining the EHIC is a formal application submitted to a department or a delegation of the National Health Fund. It should be delivered in person or sent by e-mail, mail, fax or by using ePUAP. Persons who are insured by the National Health Fund and their family members who have been registered for insurance as well as uninsured persons who are entitled to benefits under national regulations (e.g. pregnant women), may apply for the document.

When using EHIC abroad, remember that you are subject to obligations and enjoy rights arising from the legislation of an EU/EFTA member states under the same conditions as those insured in that state. Insured person, benefiting from health services under the system in which there is an obligation to co-pay, also needs to bear such costs.

Project Lublin Coalition for Integration co-financed by the National Program of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund and the state budget.
