Assisting Refugees from Ukraine in the Lublin Region

The aim of the project “Assisting Refugees from Ukraine in the Lublin Region” is to increase the possibility of exercising fundamental rights by people fleeing the war in Ukraine. The Project is implemented in Partnership with The International Rescue Committee.

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) helps people affected by humanitarian crises – including the climate crisis – to survive, recover and rebuild their lives. Founded at the call of Albert Einstein in 1933, the IRC is now at work in over 40 crisis-affected countries as well as communities throughout Europe and the Americas. The IRC delivers lasting impact by providing health care, helping children learn, and empowering individuals and communities to become self-reliant, always seeking to address the inequalities facing women and girls.

During the project:

  1. a) we run an information platform for people fleeing from Ukraine via our website www.LoginLublin.pl, which also has a Ukrainian language version,
  2. b) we ensure the constant presence of lawyers and specialists working for refugees fleeing from the current hostilities in Ukraine,
  3. c) we provide legal advice at the Project office in Lublin for 8 hours, 5 days a week,
  4. d) we provide legal support via the hotline during the working hours of the Project office,
  5. e) we travel in refugee matters (to shelters, courts), as well as abroad and / or to other places in order to provide legal assistance,
  6. f) we conduct practical training for law students on, inter alia, work with refugees who belong to a group with special needs.

Thanks to the services offered in the project, 600 people applying for legal and integration assistance will receive comprehensive advice and information on rights and obligations in EU and Polish procedures. At the same time, people in a difficult situation (single mothers, victims of violence and unaccompanied minors) will receive special support along with legal assistance, in accordance with Polish law.

Project implementation period:

15.08.2022– 31.010.2023
