Asylum, Migration, Integration

Legal support to refugees and asylum seekers in Poland

The aim of the project “Assisting Refugees from Ukraine in the Lublin Region” is to enable refugees and asylum seekers, including the most vulnerable and marginalized, to access essential protection and legal services and enjoy their rights in Poland.

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) helps people affected by humanitarian crises – including the climate crisis – to survive, recover and rebuild their lives. Founded at the call of Albert Einstein in 1933, the IRC is now at work in over 40 crisis-affected countries as well as communities throughout Europe and the Americas. The IRC delivers lasting impact by providing health care, helping children learn, and empowering individuals and communities to become self-reliant, always seeking to address the inequalities facing women and girls.

During the project:

  1. We provide referrals to refugees and asylum seekers.
  2. We provide information to refugees from Ukraine through online methods.
  3. We analyze the legal needs of refugees from Ukraine in Poland.
  4. We provide legal counseling to refugees from Ukraine.
  5. We provide legal assistance and legal case management to Non-Ukrainian refugees.
  6. We are creating Legal Community of Practice.
  7. We conduct  joint partner-lead advocacy interventions.
  8. We train students-volunteers on practical skills in working with refugee.

Project implementation period: 1.11. 2023 – 31.07.2024
