On June 19th, 2023, the World Refugee Day, the Rule of Law Institute, in cooperation with UNHCR Poland and the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, organised a debate titled “Academia in the Service of Refugee Inclusion”. During the discussion, the panel members shared their experiences and knowledge on the topic of cooperation with refugees in their workplaces as well as with volunteers engaged in supporting the war refugees. The subject of help organised by the academic community after February 24th for the war refugees was also discussed. The second part of the meeting was dedicated to the certificate distribution ceremony for the students from CUL who were involved in the training programme prepared by UNHCR Poland, CUL, and our Institute. Through the programme, the participants gained theoretical and practical knowledge in the area of refugee law. Some practical elements of the training included, e.g., undertaking an internship at one of the institutions recommended by the UNHCR and participating in the workshops taking place during the school year. The entire event was moderated by the President of the Institute, Tomasz Sieniow, Ph. D. A buffet was organised for the attendees of the debate after the conclusion of the meeting
