We would like to remind you that after the end of almost 2-year state of the epidemic, the state of epidemic threat in the territory of the Republic of Poland was announced until further notice- the Ordinance of the Minister of Health.
Therefore, the Head of the Office for Foreigners does not currently issue new Temporary Foreigners’ Identity Certificates. TZTC which validity date expired during the state of epidemic threat or epidemic state, are automatically extended by law to the 30th day following the day of cancellation of the last valid state in effect.
Despite the expiry, Temporary Foreigners’ Identity Certificates are valid in everyday legal transactions.
According to the information obtained from foreigners, some offices, including post offices and banks, do not respect such Temporary Foreigners’ Identity Certificate with an expired validity date.
In such cases, we suggest to send an application for a new TZTC in order to obtain a decision (following factual situation – a negative decision). The application may be submitted in person at the Office for Foreigners or be sent to the following address:
Urząd Do spraw Cudzoziemców
Departament Postępowań Uchodźczych
Ul. Taborowa 33
02-699 Warszawa
The content of the decision confirms the validity of such documents. It contains information that the document with a given number, held by a given person is valid and will expire only on the 30th day following the day of cancellation of the last state in effect.
It also should be remembered that a foreigner ought to submit a new application for a TZTC document after cancelling such state. The application is attached.
