Border crossing
Crossing the border, citizens of countries who can travel to Poland without visas must have a valid biometric passport, as well as the required financial resources, health insurance and justify the purpose and conditions of the planned stay.
Refusal of entry
It is important to know that if a person cannot enter the territory of the Republic of Poland if he/she appears in the database as a person whose entry should be refused and who may constitute a threat to public order and internal security.
90 days during each 180-day period
A stay without a visa may not last longer than 90 days during each 180-day period, that means taking into account the 180-day period preceding each of the days of stay which also includes the stay in the territory of any other Schengen country.
Application for a residence permit
Possession of a stamp in a passport due to submission of an application for a residence permit is not a basis for crossing the border. Please note that the period of stay on the basis of a stamp begins on the day on which the visa-free stay has been exhausted. If a foreigner leaves the territory of the Republic of Poland before receiving a residence card, he or she will be able to enter the Republic of Poland on the basis of a long-term visa. If he/she wants to come back on a visa-free basis, the person has to wait an additional 90 days outside of the Schengen area.
Work
Crossing the border in the framework of visa-free travel does not entitle you to work without having the relevant documents for that purpose (work permit, a declaration on entrusting work to a foreigner).
